July 24th, 2010 TRAINING Sharing Hope in Crisis Sharing Hope in Crisis is a one-day (7-hr) seminar put on by the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team to help equip people to appropriately come along side those in pain and crisis. Whether it is a large scale crisis or just really bad news, we, as followers of Jesus, are called to share the hope, care and love of our Heavenly Father with them. Prayer is powerful and the ultimate hope is Jesus, but first we have to be able to ‘step into the conversation’ and demonstrate we care. There is an appropriate pathway that matches the God-created crisis response mechanisms within us. There are right questions that open conversation as opposed to wrong ones that close relational doors. Participants will discover some of what God’s Word says about trauma and it’s results, as well as God’s response to it. The church needs to be prepared to be able to be used and in the process, to do no harm. We care called to bring God’s hope and comfort when people are open and searching for a God who cares for them. This training will help them see that aspect of God in and through you. This class will be taught at The Academy – NICRT in Lincolnton, NC located at 119 Dave Warlick Drive. The cost of the class is $25.00 which covers workbook, handouts and snacks.
